  • Are your doctors and nurses listening and responding to your questions and requests?

If you have questions or concerns about your care, speak with your nurse or the nursing supervisor. We will try to resolve them as quickly as possible. You also have the right to file your complaint with:

The grievance committee will review each grievance and provide the patient with a written response within 30 business days. The written response will include the name of the hospital contact, the steps taken to investigate the grievance, and the results and date of completion of the grievance process. Concerns regarding quality of care or premature discharge will also be referred to the appropriate Utilization and Quality Control Peer Review Organization (PRO).

Patient Survey

After you leave the hospital, you may receive:

  • A survey in the mail asking you to rate how well the hospital met your needs
  • A phone call from a hospital employee asking about your experience with us and how you are feeling after returning home

The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) requires that all healthcare providers comply with federal standards to protect the security and confidentiality of each patient’s health information. Antelope Valley Medical Center strictly adheres to all HIPAA requirements, which means your protected health information (PHI) will remain private.
